At Evan Street Denture Clinic, we provide quality denture care to all our patients and are always happy to give advice on how to care for your dentures.

To ensure they’re kept in optimum condition, your dentures should be brushed with liquid soap and water after each meal if possible. There are also specific denture toothpastes available from retailers, and denture cleansing tablets should also be used once a day – soaking the dentures to clean them effectively.

It’s important to be careful not to drop your dentures around hard surfaces, as they may break or be damaged when dropped – particularly on ceramic basins and tiles. It’s, therefore, a good idea to use water in a basin when washing them or to place a towel in the sink to prevent them from landing on ceramic.

Dentures should be checked by your Dental Prosthetist as often as necessary, or at least every two years, as this will prolong their life. Often, the dentures will need need to be tightened / adjusted or cleaned to ensure they continue to fit properly and to prevent plaque or stains from sticking to them.
